2016 OLYMPIC BILLBOARD & BUS WRAP

For the bus wrap, movement and hierarchy in color were two key goal that I wanted to accomplish. The bars did just that (as explained later on). I decided to choose the type logo instead of the sears tower for the bus wrap because I wanted to give the drivers the message right away. I also decided to choose an almost full desaturation for the background because it gives off a classic moment, yet there is something vibrant about it. Thus the abstract bars are a release of liveliness of color.

I really wanted to utilize my gradation theme with the billboard. This time, I used the gradation for the image so that the focus is more on the runner instead of the speed shapes. I was lucky to find this kick ass photo of the runner, it has the perfect lighting and hint of color that I wanted. I also used this image to my benefit by allowing me to use my single colored Olympic logo. With the speed shapes, I still wanted to have some of the gradation theme, so I actually went with a color change pattern, yellow and red on top, and green and blue on bottom. It helps keep the focal point on the head.

2016 OLYMPIC BILLBOARD & BUS WRAP

My strategy for my billboard is to continue the abstract rectangle theme as well as using real images of athletes. I want to try to play with the colors and transparencies. For the bus wrap, I've been seeing some integrated work. I want to try that direction as well using the abstract rectangles as platforms or symbols of movement.

2016 OLYMPICS STATIONARY

I continued the abstract gradient theme throughout my stationary. I wanted to create a sense of open space to represent Chicago's  gigantic city. For the business card, I have two directions. One is more corporate and the other is I find is a little more fun.

2016 OLYMPIC LOGO

So here's my 2016 Olympic Logo for Chicago-- so far. I decided to go with the abstract geometric Sears Towers. I also went with the gradient in this logo to show movement. I also chose Gotham Nights as my type because it is narrow like the tower itself and almost looks like a city skyline. So please be as critical as possible. Don't hold back.
