I wanted my ad to be about design and its relation to the world. What better subject than the human being. Hopefully, the slogan isn't too cheesy, I'm not the best copywriter.

SOFTWARE PACKAGING INTERIOR

For my interior, I wanted to show the new/enhanced functions. The images are taken from Adobe CS4 Photoshop website because I do not have the actual CS4 application. My concept follows the graphical treatment. on the cover, it's its original size, the interior is larger, and the back is the largest.

SOFTWARE PACKAGING BACK COVER

For my back covers, I really wanted to keep it simple by having just info and no photo imagery. I would rather have that in the interior flap. The very bottom of the back cover is left empty because Im going to put the Adobe logo terms and conditions and other logos.

SOFTWARE PACKAGING COVER REVISED

So I went with the medium folds and now I have 3 layouts for each application. I wanted to keep with the same color identification for each application, but with 1 accent color that stands out: analogous blues for Ps, analogous oranges for Ai, and analogous purples for ID. The 1st column is the basic layout Adobe uses. The 2nd column is with the title in the middle-ish. The 3rd column is similar to 2nd column but with 3 reflections representing a 4 corner fold.

SOFTWARE PACKAGING AD THUMBNAILS

(Clockwise) Starting with the top left. This concept is based on my paper folding graphics and is basically a flower sprouting out of the ground, but everything is made of this paper folding graphics, or maybe just some and the rest is a photo. The next image is based on the perception of an eye. Their will be cross sections of graphics that divide the eye's view of art and stuff. Next is returning to my rorschach concept but with the graphical treatment of used in my cover. Next is two arms reaching out for the new CS5 on a display window. The graphical treatment on the arm will increase as it gets closer to the window. Next are the 3 boxes with a mystical cloud of design elements merging together with each cover's cloud thing. Next are the boxes exploding of the paper folding graphics. Basically, my overall concept was to show some sort of visual explosion to symbolize the creative mind.

SOFTWARE PACKAGING COVER REVISED

I have chosen the paper fold concept for my cover. What I have been working on is adding depth/dimension to the graphics because the original was too flat. Here, I have 2 version of depth for each graphical treatment. To me, its looks like a double vision effect and almost has a psychedelic trip feel.

SOFTWARE PACKAGING COVER

I went with the paper fold/origami inspired design for the cover. It's avery simple and elegant design that I think will be a pretty good design for a series. So far, this is just a first draft, but I'm hoping to make it more detailed in some way. The first design on the left is an unfolded paper pattern. The second design is abstract shapes that resemble a close up of origami. In both designs, I tried using different hues and colors to give dimension and depth. The title is what Adobe is using right now, but I'm thinking about designing a new one because, I think, CS1 and CS2 have the same title design and CS3 and CS4 have the same title design. So, I guess Adobe is changing it up every 2 series. Iono.

SOFTWARE PACKAGING

I have chosen to design packaging for the Adobe CS5 collection because of its creative background in both software and in packaging. I t will be a challenge to design for something that has succeeded so well in design, so that is why I am taking on this brand.

2016 OLYMPIC BILLBOARD & BUS WRAP

For the bus wrap, movement and hierarchy in color were two key goal that I wanted to accomplish. The bars did just that (as explained later on). I decided to choose the type logo instead of the sears tower for the bus wrap because I wanted to give the drivers the message right away. I also decided to choose an almost full desaturation for the background because it gives off a classic moment, yet there is something vibrant about it. Thus the abstract bars are a release of liveliness of color.

I really wanted to utilize my gradation theme with the billboard. This time, I used the gradation for the image so that the focus is more on the runner instead of the speed shapes. I was lucky to find this kick ass photo of the runner, it has the perfect lighting and hint of color that I wanted. I also used this image to my benefit by allowing me to use my single colored Olympic logo. With the speed shapes, I still wanted to have some of the gradation theme, so I actually went with a color change pattern, yellow and red on top, and green and blue on bottom. It helps keep the focal point on the head.

2016 OLYMPIC BILLBOARD & BUS WRAP

My strategy for my billboard is to continue the abstract rectangle theme as well as using real images of athletes. I want to try to play with the colors and transparencies. For the bus wrap, I've been seeing some integrated work. I want to try that direction as well using the abstract rectangles as platforms or symbols of movement.

2016 OLYMPICS STATIONARY

I continued the abstract gradient theme throughout my stationary. I wanted to create a sense of open space to represent Chicago's  gigantic city. For the business card, I have two directions. One is more corporate and the other is I find is a little more fun.

2016 OLYMPIC LOGO

So here's my 2016 Olympic Logo for Chicago-- so far. I decided to go with the abstract geometric Sears Towers. I also went with the gradient in this logo to show movement. I also chose Gotham Nights as my type because it is narrow like the tower itself and almost looks like a city skyline. So please be as critical as possible. Don't hold back.

2016 OLYMPICS THUMBNAILS & TYPE STUDIES

The city I chose for the 2016 Olympics is Chicago. I knew Chicago was one of the bidding candidates and why not choose a city where some of my family lives in, the Dark Knight was filmed, and home to our new President?

Type Study
I wanted to choose a very clean typeface that is clear on both screen and print. I also wanted to choose a typeface that emphasizes all the curves and circles in the letters in Chicago.

Thumbnails
My strategy was to symbolize two aspects of Chicago that almost everyone knows-- the Sears Twin Towers and the wind. I wanted to combine these two elements into one symbol in an abstract way.

Cérémonie Teas by Danny Goldberg
This packaging uses a basic cube die cut like many products but its graphics, color and super cleanliness is what caught my eye. The ink used on this packaging reminds me of Apple's packaging because of the slight matte finish and simple one color text. The icons are in bright rock colors which direct your attention to it right away. What I like most about this packaging is that it uses an Art Nouveau motif in the circles to represent the tea leaves.

Emeyu Tea
This packaging is very well designed because it has a multifunctional use or containment you can say. You can
place the single tea bag packaging flat on one side or you turn the entire packaging on another side and use it as a book
shelf format. It has a second life. I also thought the matte finished tea bag was a great choice because it continued the
calming tone of the packaging. The graphics are also very clean and simple.

Teet Milk by Ashley Linnenbank
I thought that this packaging was the most creative. It took the concept of a cow's utters, where milk is extraceted
from, and used it for its packaging as bottles. The packaging that holds the bottle is very simple, but environmental
at the same time by using cardboard. What I really like the contrast between the box and the bottles. The box is very
geometric while the bottles are very organic. The colors also play a part too. I love how the bottles are bright and
catches your attention.
Bad
Happy B.B.Q Chicken Set
This packaging is way too busy. When I first looked at it, I could not tell that there was chicken in it. The
packaging clearly wants to hide what ever it is selling. The graphics do not help either. The snowflakes on the box are
bigger than the chicken image. It should have been the other way around.
Chicken of the Sea Salmon Cups
First of all, this packaging reminds me of pudding. But when I look at the labeling, it says Salmon Cups. The
combination of these two concepts was not, at all, a good idea. I also thought the color choices were better suited
for wine or something warm. Chicken of the Sea should have stayed with their can packaging for this one instead.
This packaging does not do justice to--I think it's strawberries. Even though the jar does protect the strawberries, they
look very unattractive to the customer. The logo is also too small and almost hidden on the lid. The color treatment is
also poor. Choosing the yellow and red reminds me of McDonalds and not strawberries.
